Ana Alonso nació en Tarrasa (Barcelona) en 1970, aunque ha residido durante la mayor parte de su vida en León. Se licenció en Ciencias Biológicas por la Universidad de León y amplió sus estudios en Escocia y París. Ha publicado ocho poemarios y, entre otros, ha recibido el Premio de Poesía Hiperión (2005), el Premio Ojo Crítico de Poesía (2006), el Premio Antonio Machado en Baeza (2007) y el Premio Alfons el Magnànim Valencia de poesía en castellano (2008). Entre sus libros dirigidos al público infantil y juvenil, destacamos la colección Pizca de Sal, y otros títulos como < i > La casa de muñecas < /i > y < i > Los instantes perfectos < /i > . Junto a Javier Pelegrín, es coautora de la serie de fantasía y ciencia ficción < i > La llave del tiempo < /i > (Anaya) y de otras sagas como < i > Tatuaje, Yinn, Odio el Rosa < /i > y < i > La reina de Cristal < /i > . En 2008 obtuvieron el Premio Barco de Vapor por < i > El Secreto de If < /i > . También recibieron una distinción White Raven por el libro < i > La ciudad transparente < /i > , el premio 2009 del Templo de las Mil Puertas a la mejor saga juvenil española por < i > La llave del tiempo < /i > y el XII Premio Anaya de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil en 2015 con < i > El sueño de Berlín < /i > . Su obra ha sido traducida a diversos idiomas (desde el francés o el alemán hasta el japonés, el coreano y el turco).
